Oranaiche Cheap Breatuinn/Cape Breton Gaelic Choir

(Quoting the liner notes...)

The Cape Breton Gaelic Choir was started in 1983 by Mrs. Mae Cameron. Mae is now retired as head of the music department in the Sydney school system and is a renowned soprano soloist in both English and Gaelic. Because of the excellent arranging and direction of Mae Cameron and because of the patient instruction of Mrs. Kenna MacDonald (a native Gaelic speaker from the Isle of Lewis), the choir has developed into a gratifying, harmonious group. Sit back and join the choir in a Gaelic song. Tha sinn an dochas gu'n cord e ruibh.

This is a singalong album (as it says on the cover, the words are even included with the LP) for fans of Gaelic folk and choral music. I'll freely admit that this isn't my cuppa-tea...but the voices are really good, and it sounds like they are really having a blast. The piano is played by Shauna Doolan, guitar and mandolin by Donnie Campbell, violin by Shawn MacDonald, and bass by Nigel Waye.
