Finnigan
Finnigan were Jim Flynn "on
guitar, rubber chicken, and stories" and Peter Stoney "on banjo,
mandolin, and tamborine." These guys were a hilariously entertaining
duo from Eastern Canada. Jim has continued entertaining audiences
around the world with this unique brand of Eastern Canadian
hilarity. His Finnigan partner, Peter Stoney, is untraceable on the
internet at this point. If anyone knows what happened with him,
please let me
know. This LP, Finnigan and Their 'Good Time'
Travelling Show Live in the Maritimes is as good a live album
as you're likely to find. It's back-to-back energy and, well, good
times! A classic from these guys is called "7 Old
Ladies" and it features some great crowd participation. There are
some off-colour jokes in the intro that you may not appreciate, but
it is what it is, and the song itself is brilliant. The other two
tracks are songs you've probably heard a million times in your
favourite Irish pub: Nancy Whiskey and Farewell Nova
Scotia. 7
