Jean-Marcel Raymond
Jean-Marcel Raymond (one of many Hammond
Organ virtuosos that I keep discovering) was born on October 5, 1948
in Joliette, Quebec. He became determined to be a musician around
age 11, when he started playing the harmonica, piano, and the organ.
By the age of 12, he was already playing in local
churches. This album, "Jean-Marcel Raymond a L'orgue Volume 5" features the
usual mix of different dance numbers and medleys. Hard to say
if the folks on the cover are really listening to him play at
a real performance, but this is an album intended to get people moving and
"get the party started." Jean-Marcel is accompanied by Michel
Lamoreux on drums on all of these
tracks. Le Tango Des Jours
Heureux is a fun tango number, and has some nice
flamenco guitar at the half-way point, and some accordion for good measure Les Filles On
N'ait Jamais/Pour Un Flirt is super dancy, mixing a polka
rhythm with some rock-n-roll styled
breaks
