The Singing Edwards

One of our many home-grown family-based country bands, and a rarity for us, as the album was still sealed when I found it. This is 100% unplayed vinyl folks!

The Singing Edwards are one of those church-loving, family groups, and they show some great talent on this record. The group is made up of Grace and Jim (mom and dad), Scott, April, Heather, Bonnie, and Mark Edwards, along with some other musician friends: Tom Keates (steel guitar), Gizz Watt (fiddle), Al Manning (guitars), Stephen Patterson (rhythm guitar), Don Edmunds (strings synth), and Mike Bond (drums).

So far, I've only been able to locate Bonnie, and you can read more about her life and work at her website. She now works with her husband in musical evangelical pursuits.

My favourite song on the LP is sung by April, Gramma Sang Off Key. It's a poppy country song that's a lot of fun. Don't You Love Me is (ironically) sung a bit flat and off-key, but it has some great steel guitar. Lastly, I Saw The Light as sung by Jim the Dad is another fun country take with some great fiddle and guitar work.
