Gregory Alliston

by beau 20. November 2008 07:27

Classical guitarist Gregory Alliston had two songs on one of the Radio Canada compilations I bought at a CBC sale, but unfortunately the liner notes didn't include any biographical information. So, beyond a couple of fleeting references on the internet, I have no information about Mr. Alliston. Seems like he was/is a pretty good guitarist, though. Both pieces are, as stated above, in a classical style; "Mam Ha Decarnaval" is slower and somewhat reflective, while "Samba de Orfeu" is more upbeat and lighthearted, what with the slide whistle kicking it off and all.
