It's unclear which county or town The County Town Singers hail from, although the Ontario Ladies College in Whitby is thanked on the back cover, and the record was "produced, recorded and custom manufactured for The County Town Singers by World Records, Oshawa." At any rate, The County Town Singers were a '70s-era church choir accompanied by John Schmidt on guitar, Ed Bolton on bass and Steve Smith on drums.
"Aquarius" is, of course, the big number from the musical Hair, and I find it a bit amusing that a small town church choir decided to record this quintessential hippie anthem. And damned if there isn't some decent wah-wah guitar during the second half of the song, where it sounds like they're singing "Hair, the sunshine!" over and over again. "For All We Know" is a cover of a Bread song, and while I know Bread is to rock and roll as Wonder Bread is to bread, the tune drifts along nicely in a laid-back haze, and I kinda like the "do do do do do"'s in the chorus.
