Don Gillis

I found this trio of songs by Don Gillis(not this Don Gillis) on an old CBC Radio compilation. The internet wasn't much help, so I'll quote the liner notes:

"Don Gillis has been an active arranger and noted jazz pianist in the Toronto area for the last five years and has just recently completed the original score for the Canadian feature length movie "Recommendation For Mercy". He is also arranger/musical director for Catherine McKinnon."

All three of these songs arevery mid-'70s lite-funk numbers, with pretty good brass arrangements and lots of wah-wah guitar, although they're definitely polite enough to be the creation of someone who also scored episodes of "Road To Avonlea". Dig the jive-talkin' at the end of "Lady Marmalade".
