Our friend, Ed Nadorozny, contributed this album.
After an exhaustive search, I could only find references to Ray Little and his Gang on various sites mentioned his name, but no biographical information. Luckily, there are liner notes!
Ray little is a veteran in show business, having started his career in 1935. He has been the leader of Western groups ever since. Born in Henniker, New hampshire, he spent his early years playing shows & broascasting in the New England states. Ann Little born in Revere, Massachuesetts , joined his show in 1939 & they made a permanent team of it in 1945 when Ray returned from Armed services.
They moved to canada in 1946 & liked it so well they've been here since. The first few years were spent in the Maritimes, then on to Alberta & British Columbia for a few more years. From there it was Manitoba & for the last few years Saskatchewan has been their headquarters. The group has gained recognition & popularity in all the provinces with their stage shows & radio shows. They have been on television in Regina for the past three & a half years.
I'm not sure when this album came out, but thanks very much to Ed for sending along these tracks!
Speedy West Special is a great dancy, guitar-driven instrumental
Rock A Bye Boogie has Ann Llittle on vocals, and is another country dancing number. It even reworks "Mary Had a Little Lamb" if you can believe it!
