Henry Young

by beau 8. December 2008 17:30
Vancouver jazz guitarist Henry Young has been a member of the late Nina Simone's band, and played at the Montreux, African and Newport Jazz Festivals during the course of a long career as a performer, conductor, arranger, composer and musical director. These days, he performs as a solo guitarist and with his Soulswing Band. These two songs, both of which I found on a CBC Radio compilation, are mid-'70s jazz/r&b numbers with the sort of funky basslines and disco-influenced synths typical of the period.
