Hornet Hive Hop - The Stingin' Hornets

The Stingin' Hornets hailed from Vancouver, and consisted of singer Howard Rix, drummer Ian Tiles, guitarist Jamie Kinlock and slap bassist Joanie Kepler. "Hornet Hive Hop," an extremely short and sweet rockabilly instrumental, was recorded at Blue Wave Studios and mastered at Bullfrog Studios. You can watch the Hornets perform a song called "Sweet Love On My Mind" here.

Sleepwalk - The Mongols

Montreal's The Mongols were only together long enough to release a single EP before lead singer/guitarist Kim Shadow fell from a rooftop and died. The other Mongols were Johnny Mopp on bass and Marc "Bamm Bamm" Perron. "Sleepwalk" is a slow psychobilly number which features a great performance by Shadow, who shouts, moans and screams his way through the song.

Black Corvair - Color Me Psycho

Color Me Psycho (great name) were a Calgary garage rock band made up of singer/guitarist Aliester Hex, singer/bassist Edgar Allan Crowe, keyboardist John Rodent and drummer S.P. Larkin. "Black Corvair," a trashy ode to a cool car, was recorded at R&L Studios, and if you dig it, O CANADARM! has an entire album by the band available for download.

Yap Yap - Jerry Jerry & The Sons Of Rhythm Orchestra

Originally from Edmonton, Jerry Jerry & The Sons Of Rhythm Orchestra relocated to Montreal, where their psycho-country-gospel-punk music was a big hit with audiences. Canadian rock icon Jerry Jerry was the singer alongside Ace "Musical Vacations" Picks (guitar), George Wall (guitar), Blake Cheetah (bass) and Duke Whitehouse (drums). "Yap Yap," a catchy garage-rockabilly tune, was recorded at Montreal's Studio Victor.
