I found all three of these Teaze albums in the same Salvation Army shop. I had never heard the band, but I had heard OF the band before, especially in my own metal lovin' days of the 1980s. Say what you will about party-rock and 80s-style "hair metal", these guys were excellent. They could write catchy anthems with the best of them, and they never really got a lot of support here in Canada.
Teaze formed in 1975 by Brian Danter on bass guitar and vocals and Marc Bradac on guitars, Mike Kozak on drums and Chuck Price on guitar. They released 5 LPs in total between 1977 and 1980.
I've been trying to hunt down their debut album (self-titled) from 1977. They got some help from George Young (older brother of Angus and Malcolm, of a little group called AC/DC). They slogged their way around North America on tours for several years, but never really caught on here. Japan, however, ate these guys up. They had a sound that would be comparable to early Motley Crue, early Ratt, Accept, etc. Hard, loud, slightly obnoxious, and the music was all about fun and partying etc. Not exactly the kind of band that could expect a big push in this country.

The original LPs are now out of print, but you can buy CD compilations just about anywhere. I'd recommend it, as it's nice to see some guys who were unafraid to do their own thing and gain some success outside of Canada.
